Par Infinity was organized nearly two decades ago for the purpose of promoting the international sport of disc golf in Humboldt County. It is Par Infinity's mission to introduce disc golf to our community and to establish broad based public support for the sport. Our purpose and mission are furthered through for primary focus areas: (1) education; (2) establishment of working relationships with local public entities, public benefit organizations, the business community and private individuals; (3) current course maintenance; and (4) new course construction.

Education: Par Infinity's primary goal is to educate people in our community about the sport and the numerous benefits disc golf has to offer the community at large. We will also continue our efforts to teach new players how to play the sport through educational clinics, seminars and in other forums. Par Infinity is also focused on educating the public about the environmental impact of recreational land use. We will continue to encourage disc golfers and other users of multi-recreational areas to be environmentally conscious. Finally, Par Infinity is dedicated to educating public entities, public benefit organizations, the business community and private economic and communal benefits of disc golf.

Establishment of working relationships with local public entities, public benefit organizations, the business community and private persons: The success of disc golf in the community is dependent on the support of local public entities, public benefit organizations, the business community, as well as, private individuals who are willing to donate their time and efforts. Coordinating with these various entities and individuals will ensure the success of disc golf in Humboldt, while helping the community to realize the benefits of the sport.

Current course maintenance: Currently, there are two established disc golf courses in Humboldt County and several newly formed courses. Course maintenance includes not only developing and carrying out a plan for the physical maintenance of these courses, but continuing our efforts to establish good relations with other who use these recreational areas and the owners of real property upon which these recreational areas exist. Further, Par Infinity supports and will further the efforts of those who strive to learn about and limit the environmental impact on multi-use recreational areas where disc golf is played.

New course construction: Disc golf is the fastest growing sport in the world and in Humboldt County. Par Infinity is currently monitoring the growth of this sport in our community by surveying the amount of new players to the sport, the age and interest range of current players and growth projections of the sport over the next several years. New course construction is necessary to accommodate this growth. The establishment of new courses will decrease the use and impact of disc golf in multi-use recreation areas, where disc golf is currently played. It will also ensure that other areas in Humboldt County will benefit from the relatively inexpensive recreational alternative of disc golf, while providing a variety of courses for disc golfers to enjoy.
